Direct to Garment (DTG)

Direct To Garment printing, also known as DTG, is great for those looking to create small orders with unlimited colours. Using eco-friendly water based inks, we provide a print that is colourful, photo accurate, and washes great when cared for correctly.

Direct to Garment, or DTG printing is an electronic printing process that is very similar to an ink jet printer. It applies a specially formulated water-based fabric ink directly onto the garment, using inkjet technology.  The garment absorbs the inks into the fibers, creating a softer feel to the traditional method of screen printing.

DTG prints are not quite as durable as traditional screen printing due to the ultra fine layer of ink compared to a plastisol print.

Digital printing requires less setup than screen printing and has no color limitation. Typically best suited for short runs under 100, or prints featuring images of high detail and multiple colors.

We only print on our tested AS Colour range of garments. Explore the full range to choose from on their website.

    • Photo quality prints 1200x1200 dpi resolution

    • No colour limit

    • No cracking or thick layer on your shirt

    • Vibrant colour - we use 2 pass printing for maximum colour load

    • Natural soft feel - Innobella fabric inks give a soft feel to your print

    • Safe for kids - Okeo-Tex eco passport certified inks

  • There is a major difference when printing on white garments to coloured garments:

    • In order to be able to print on a coloured garment, we first have to spray the garment with a pre treatment solution that provides the white ink something to stick to.  We then print a layer of white ink, followed by the colour layer.

    • Because of this, colours do tend to look much brighter than those designs printed directly onto a white garment.

    • When we print on a white garment, the cotton absorbs the ink which means it cannot be as vibrant as solid layers of ink, the upside is the softness.

    • We do not pretreat or print white ink onto white t-shirts.

We have samples in our showroom for you to choose the best print method for your design.

  • The longevity of your tee and prints is largely up to you.
To ensure you get as much wear out of them as possible please follow these instructions carefully.

    • Cold gentle wash inside out

    • Do not tumble dry (dry it inside on the coat hanger…no ironing necessary)

    • If you must iron, iron inside out

    • Do not dry in direct sunlight

    • Do NOT use fabric softeners or bleach like products - this will strip the print.

If you follow these instructions - your print should last for up to 30 washes

  • We don't print white ink on white garments.- any designs containing white will have areas with no print on them.

We do not DTG onto certain coloured tees that are know to present unexpected results.

There might be slight discrepancies in print placement., we are only human after all.

DTG printing can fade over time (expect 10-20% for white tshirts - 5-10% for coloured tees)

Direct to Film (DTF)

Direct to Film or DTF is the NEWEST method to hit the garment printing industry.

This technology allows us to create quality, detailed, colourful, and ultra durable prints.

Due to it’s versatility, we can print on all types of materials including tees, polo's, hats, bags, pants and stretchy goods, resulting in a soft and light hand-feel.

There are no minimums for our DTF service, but for best value - multiples are best.

DTF Transfers can be used on a wide variety of surfaces, this makes it a perfect method for decorating hats, caps, bags and much more....

We use the bolder, brighter Innobella Textile inks are water-based pigment inks and are ECO PASSPORT by OKEO-TEX® certified, CPSIA complaint and GOTS Approved Additive for CMYK and White Inks.

    • the print is soft to touch.

  • DTF is applied with heat, so avoiding the clothes dryer is best for a long life to your print.

Large orders (over 150 units) we recommend chatting to our team about screen printing for mass production.

  • The longevity of your tee and prints is largely up to you.
To ensure you get as much wear out of them as possible please follow these instructions carefully.

  • Colour matching with fabric ink is a process we will need to add to your service if colour accuracy is important ot you. We recommend having a colour match completed if you are using your logo and need to hit the right shade of lime or orange for example..

Embroidery

Why choose embroidery? Well it is extremely durable and likely to outlast your shirts!

Embroidery involves sewing thousands of stitches into the fabric to create a design. Yup - its quite agressive!

We are just a little fussy.... so be assured your stitches will be on point.

From uniforms to caps and bags, we offer premium quality embroidery. Colours can be matched to your Pantone colours, or selected in store from our thread chart.

There is a cost for ditizing your logo into a stitch file. (This is a one time fee)

Why is there a cost for this? Well, because we need to digitally map each individual stitch and it requires test stitching and adjusting to compensate for the fabric type.

Please see the details about limitations for the best result.

    • Designs should be as simple as possible

    • Gradients are not possible with embroidery

    • Fine details are sometimes not achievable with embroidery, a line of thread can only do so much.

    • Lettering has a minimum height of 5-6mm

    • We prefer Adobe Illustrator files if you have them available.

    • Fonts must be provided or converted to outlines.

    • High res images are acceptable

  • We supply a wide range of headwear and garments suitable for embroidery.

We do not typically accept customer supplied items for embroidery. If we agree to use your supplied iutems, they must b brand new and unworn. We also charge a Customer supplied goods fee per garment.

Thread colours reflect light differently due to the high sheen nature so colours may appear more intense than expected. We recommend providing Pantone colours for matching to your logo.
